After a sizable break, I decided to give Wheeler's second Mirrowen tale a shot on audiobook. We're dropped straight into the action after the conclusion of Fireblood, but introduced to the dryad-born, Phae, who becomes a new, much higher-maintenance POV character than Annon and Hettie. Unlike the fantasy community at large, I thought this novel was substantially worse than the series' debut entry/5.
